Job Description:
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Norwich University is looking to hire an adjunct instructor to teach General Chemistry I, Organic Chemistry, Chemistry for Engineers or Forensic Chemistry laboratory and/or lecture sections during the fall of 2026. Our current needs are to cover 1-2 lecture sections and 2-3 lab sections. The successful applicant will join a General Chemistry teaching team and use an established curriculum for both the laboratory and the lecture. We are open to hiring multiple part-time people to meet these needs. Full-time employment, with the potential to continue into the spring semester, would also be considered based on qualifications and experience. Spring course load could include General Chemistry II, Chemistry for Engineers, or Forensic Chemistry. Timely assignment grading and the holding of office hours for student consultations are also expected.
Requirements:
MS or higher in chemistry, biochemistry, or related field; a strong commitment to the education of undergraduates in the arts, sciences, and engineering (prior teaching experience at the college level is preferred). Part-time work is compensated on a per-course (workload-hour) rate, whereas full-time work is salaried.
