Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Structural Welder with over five years of experience in commercial or naval settings. This role involves performing tack, fillet, and full penetration welding on steel foundations and structural and pipe joints, particularly in the production of aircraft carriers and submarines. You will utilize various welding processes, including Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW).

• Perform tack, fillet, and full penetration welding on steel foundations and structural and pipe joints.
• Utilize Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) and Flux Cored Arc Welding (FCAW) processes.
• Work on the production of aircraft carriers and submarines.

• 5 plus years of experience as a first-class structural welder in commercial or naval environments.
• Proficiency in Stick Welding (SMAW) and Flux-Core Welding (FCAW).

The work is conducted in a shipyard, known as the largest shipbuilding facility in the world, located in Southeast Virginia. The environment can be very hot and muggy during the summer and cool in the winter, with all tasks performed on a Navy vessel or in a workshop.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, VA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.
