Job Description:
Seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join a growing team. The Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for a variety of construction projects, analyzing blueprints and specifications, and collaborating with architects, contractors, and project managers. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and market pricing to help ensure project profitability.
Key Responsibilities:
* Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to determine the scope of work and materials required.
* Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and other project expenses.
* Analyze and compile data on construction costs to develop accurate project budgets.
* Collaborate with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to gather the necessary information for estimating.
* Assist in value engineering to optimize project costs while maintaining high quality and safety standards.
* Prepare bid packages and participate in negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Monitor and update cost estimates as project requirements change or new information becomes available.
* Maintain a database of project costs, historical data, and pricing information for future reference.
* Stay up-to-date with industry trends, new technologies, and materials.
Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role.
* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
* Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and methods.
* Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., ProEst, Bluebeam, PlanSwift) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and contracts.
* Strong communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
